This Vampire film including a sailor, navigator and vampire.
Using of sound tracks as follow:
Old wooden boat as the back ground music, the gentle sound of the wooden boot, sloshing around in the water creates a sense of clams with the footsteps of the sailor walking down. a grasshopper represent an alert from nature, metal hitting wood,followed by creaking of the opening coffin and adding human voice call out oh,no! wow etc with the cartoon sound making the film feel funny. I am trying to create building tension, climaxing in horror as the man see's the vampire. The dramatic element which induce humour.
l wanted to lampoon the typical Dracula-like approach to the vampire genre. Therefore, contrast and the unexpected were my tools.
Challenges included choosing the appropriate sounds to accurately convey the atmosphere that I wanted to create. For example, the sailor's scream which had to carry horror but also an element of farce. Accurate
insertion of the sound at the exact moment to create impact was another difficulty. For example, synchronising the axing open of the box by the sailor and the creaking of the coffin lid as it opened.
I feel that it is difficult to write a step-by-step commentary on how I did it! Also I found it hard to work out where I should save the files.
I feel that this was an interesting assignment, and it was a good choice of film.
